Most days don't leave room for this. There's writing at work, and messages, and captions — but almost none of it asks you to make something. The kind of writing where you pick a word because it is the right one, and the sentence is better for it, has quietly dropped out of ordinary life.
This is a small attempt to put five minutes of it back. Every day there is one prompt, and everyone in the world gets the same one. It is meant to be answerable in about five minutes — short enough to do on a bus, specific enough that you never have to stare at a blank page working out what to write about.
Then it's yours. Keep it to yourself, send it to one person, or put it on the feed and read what everyone else did with the same handful of words. No account, no profile, no streak to keep up, nothing to sign up for. Just today's prompt, and whatever you make of it.
